Kentaste was established to provide smallholders farmers with a reliable, fair income from the millions of coconut trees growing along Kenya’s coast. For many years, the crop was neglected with farmers having no option other than selling through informal markets. When we introduced our value add processing, farmers realized that their coconut trees could become a sustainable source of income for their households.

Our aim is to unlock the potential of this economy by connecting rural farmers to an international supply chain, working with them to grow only the best coconuts in order to produce high quality, all-natural coconut products for our customers around the world.
We’re driven by a relentless passion to meet tomorrow’s market needs with new and innovative products. We are always open to what the future may bring. But no matter what we produce, it will always be creative and it will always be authentically Kenyan.
Our Capacity
Kentaste processes a wide range of coconut products and is constantly adding to its product portfolio. From food to personal care, our range is manufactured at the highest quality, conforming to international standards of production. Our FSSC certified operation assures our customers and consumers that they will always receive a top of the line product.
Currently we are capable of processing hundreds of thousands of coconuts per month (and this number is growing), and what’s more, our commitment to innovation means we have production lines structured to take advantage of the amazing versatility of the coconut. We use every part of every coconut we purchase, maximizing our operational efficiency and promoting a culture of zero waste.
Our Team
We started as a family business and while we are much bigger now, we still treat our employees like family. But this doesn’t mean we are old fashioned. With over 50% of senior management made up of women, we are focused on promoting gender balance equality, within our farmers, our management and our workforce.
In addition to this our hiring practices have always been focused on creating more opportunities for the youth in the communities we serve.
